L’Andana is located in Southern Tuscany, Maremma, just one hour and 30 min from both Rome and Florence. The area is famous amongst Italians because of its white sandy beaches. It’s the place where the idyllic Tuscan countryside with vineyards and olive groves meets the turquoise waters of the Mediterranean sea.
Maremma, the unspoilt and off the beaten track Tuscany
The property, only 33 rooms, is set inside a 1250-acre estate once owned by Leopold I, Grand Duke of Tuscany and it features a Michelin starred chef looking after both restaurants.
Some amazing medieval art towns are nearby: Castiglione della Pescaia, Roccatederighi, Massa Marittima.
Great wines, too: Morellino di Scansano, Vermentino and the Super Tuscans.
My personal tip
Visit Pitigliano (the Little Jerusalem) less than one-hour drive from the hotel. its story is captivating and its architecture mind blowing. Do not forget to taste a glass of Super Tuscan once you’re back at the hotel.
My favourite room
The prestige suite on the top floor of The Villa has my name on it! The colors, the views, the style, the fireplace, everything is simply perfect
